I wish, wish, wish that we didn’t have to introduce three new sounds in one lesson, but we really do need them all to read the first three pages. If in doubt, be extra helpful while they learn to juggle these new ones.

Something I haven’t mentioned before, but is fun for the children, is when you can use their names in sentences. Most of them can probably recognize their names by sight before now, but children enjoy going back over their name and seeing how it follows the rules (well if it follows the rules). If you have a Jim, Jill, or Bob, feel free to use their names when you are building words. Sibling and cousin names are a big hit, too.
