Because “The Big Hat” didn’t introduce anything new (I’m not complaining; practicing is wonderful, and it is nice to have a new book to work with for that), I didn’t require my student to read the book a second time, so if your student struggles at all with the book, you’ll want to repeat the reading in another lesson or two.
Later on, there is another book that is also technically review, but my daughter struggled a little (I’ll explain why when we get there), and so we read it twice. Reading once or twice is an area for wisdom, so pray as you teach, my friends.
