I might add that when I introduced this blend, I took slowly began to take “over” off the sight words list. Show your student how it follows the O-Something-E rule, and even put in on your card if you like, for daily practice. This was handy for me, as my particular student has struggled with learning “over” as a sight word, but caught on instantly once it was following a rule she knew.
Lesson Two

- Review appropriate sections in the binder.
- Read: Set K, Book 10 (“Sun Sets”) 7-ff
Lesson Three

Book 10 is a pretty quick and easy read–fun for the students. This is the last book of the Kindergarten Set, so I moved on to working only with Set 3 for a while.
