Can I give the Teaching Reading with Bob Books printable phonics lessons as a Christmas gift?

This is a question I’ve been asked lately. The short answer is: yes.

The long answer is that there are a couple ways to do this.

Option 1: The digital option

With this one, you purchase the lessons {there are quantity options in the cart so that you can easily select however many you need}, download them, and then give them to the recipient. This can be done via email, of course. Or you can put them on a flash drive, wrap the drive, and present it as a gift.

I’d suggest printing the cover(s)  so that the recipient understands what you’re giving her.

Option 2: The physical option

This is one-part handmade gift, I think. Once again, you purchase the lessons, but this time you do all the legwork for the recipient. Gather the materials for the student binder and set it all up so that the recipient doesn’t need to do anything other than open the binder and start teaching. The printing instructions in the lessons say to only print the lessons. But in this case, you’d want to print everything and add a tab that says “introduction” or something because the recipient will need all the beginning pages as well. Or, you can also include the aforementioned flash drive and tell her the instructions and teaching tips are included on the drive. That part is up to you. Just note that all three sets contain the same introductory material, so that part only needs to be printed one time.

I’m glad some of you want to give this as a gift — I would have loved stuff like this as a gift when I was first starting out in homeschooling. Merry Christmas to all of you!
