In this book, we start to see a lot more multi-syllabic words, and some students will have a hard time decoding them. This is normal. Don’t freak out, and definitely don’t start thinking your child is dyslexic. It is hard to move to longer words. Sometimes, I use my thumb to cover up most of the word and help the child break it down into smaller syllables. You will have to figure out what works with your student.
